On Friday, September 16, 2016, grades 11 and 12, accompanied by their teachers Mr. Gündert, Mr. Schlager and Ms. Hill, went on a field trip to the “Museum of Military History” in Stammheim (https://www.museum-stammheim.de). With an area of 17.000 m², it is the biggest private military museum in Germany and covers a period from roughly 1800 – 1990. Students learned about the developments in military technology with a focus on the First and Second World War, which is a key component of the History syllabus in the IB Diploma Programme.
At first we went on a guided tour through the museum and then the students had the chance to explore the exhibition, completing the “Museum of Military History” – investigation worksheet.
